Windows Update has a central catalog called Product Updates that includes new product enhancements such as system files, device drivers, service packs, and new Windows features. These enhancements will be recommended to you based on what is needed for your specific computer.

When you have determined which components you want to download, click "Read this first". The information here provides you with additional guidelines about the items you've selected including:

  • How to download and install components
  • How to use components
  • How to uninstall components
  • Related support policies

To proceed with the download of the components you have selected:
Click the Download button located at the top of the Product Catalog. This will take you to the Download Checklist where you can confirm your selections and view download instructions.

NOTE: Some components require an exclusive download. You may be prompted to cancel the selection of all other components before proceeding with the download.

At the Download Checklist screen, click Start Download to continue.
The download and installation will complete automatically, and you will be notified that the download and installation of each component was successful.
